Kosen Gregory Snyder will be giving a short talk and facilitating a discussion on allowing our ancestries to be known by our bodies so that we might begin to relinquish the unjust power, supremacy, and self-destructive alienation of whiteness, which continues to wreak havoc on the lives of people of color, Mother Earth, and our human society.
ABOUT REV. KOSEN GREGORY SNYDER
Rev. Kosen Gregory Snyder is a dharma teacher, senior priest, and co-founder for Brooklyn Zen Center and Ancestral Heart Zen Monastery. He is also the Senior Director and Assistant Professor of Buddhist Studies at Union Theological Seminary where he oversees the Master of Divinity degree program in Buddhism and Interreligious Engagement as well as the Thích Nhất Hạnh Program for Engaged Buddhism. He resides both at Ancestral Heart near Millerton, NY and the UTS campus in New York City. He is of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry and feels the Susquehanna River Valley – the land of the Susquehannock people where his family has been for 300 years – to be his heart's home.
